XP 5: How can I edit music that I’ve recorded?
No one is perfect. There are times when you might want to edit music that you recorded. It’s not just about the technology, though. Editing music you’ve recorded requires you to make decisions.

- What do people do if what they don’t like everything about what they recorded?
- How can I edit my music?
Get Started
- You can either work with the recordings you did in XP4 or make new recordings.
- Either way, listen to what you recorded and make some decisions about what you like and what you think could be better.
- Now, make a decision about whether you want to:
- Record the part all over again
- Record a segment of the part
- Use the computer to make adjustments (Unless you have a special software program this is pretty much only an option for virtual instruments (MIDI)
4. Experiment with one or more of these options to get a feel for the different approaches to editing the music
- Don’t worry about making anything perfect – the goal here is to practice some different basic ways to end up with recordings that you think sound good.
