1. Think back to your earliest memory of music.
   1. What was it?
   2. Was anyone else involved besides you? If so, who? and how? 

1. Get together with some friends or peers and brainstorm answers to the following questions:
   • What types of musical traditions does your family have?
     • For instance: Is music a part of celebrations, events, holidays, sad occasions?
   • What types of music do your family members and friends remember from growing up?
   • What do your family members and friends have in common when it comes to music?
